The Executive Council administers the affairs of IUVSTA and usually meets twice per year.
Each of these Executive Council Meetings (ECMs) is held in a country to which it has been invited by the local National Vacuum Society.
The first in 2010 will be hosted by The British Vacuum Council and will be held in the UK (ECM108).
The venue will be Barony Castle, near Peebles in the Scottish Borders and will run from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 February inclusive
IVC-18 and ICSS 14
20-28 August 2010, Beijing, China
IVC-18 is sponsored by International Union of
Vacuum Science, Technique and Application (IUVSTA),
and organized by Chinese Vacuum Society (CVS).
The congress will take place at the Beijing International
Convention Center in August, 2010. Joint international
conferences include ICN+T (2010), ICSS-14,ICSTM-15
and VASSCAA-5. This will be great opportunity
for professionals within the academic research
and industrial communities to exchange and share
the latest scientific findings and technology
development. We will invite leading researchers
to present the latest research results covering
the field of materials, surface and nano sciences.
About 2000-3000 delegates will attend the congress.
Beijing has been spiritually and politically the
heart of China for several hundreds of years.

of the Imperial Age, but is also a modern city,
merging international civilizations, sciences
