Activities

The activities of swissvacuum include the participation in, and organisation of, national and international congresses, in particular conferences, symposiums, workshops and training sessions. The Society is a member of IUVSTA (International Union of Vacuum Science, Technology and Applications), to which the Society contributes by sending its delegates to various committees or as members of the 8 scientific divisions. The divisions are:

• Electronic Materials and Processing Division
• Nanometer Structures Division
• Surface Science Division
• Applied Surface Science Division
• Plasma Science and Technique Division
• Vacuum Science Division
• Thin Film Division and Vacuum Metallurgy Division

In Switzerland, the Society is member of the Swiss Academy of Science technologies (SATW) and several other societies (SVMT, SGO, SAOG).
